Netball North Harbour is continues to address the increase in numbers of youngsters wishing to take umpiring up as their sport by offering this course especially designed for their needs. This will leave the night time course of “First Steps to Umpiring” for the adults and College children who are more able to handle the late nights.

One night of theory will be followed by 8 weeks of practical experience preceded by a brief 15 minute theory session prior to the first game at 4pm. Participants will then buddy up and support each other whilst umpiring the team they are affiliated with. With this in mind participants need to be available for more than one round of games firstly to umpire themselves and secondly to then watch their buddy and fill in the assessment sheet for them. The first night is dedicated to theory and some practical experience (please bring a whistle).

The upstairs VIP room will be available for participants to leave their gear and receive support and tuition. Promising participants may be able to move onto their Junior Badge.
